Chapter 1: On Watchfulness and the Calibration of Year One

About This Series This series, The First Epistle to the Aquarians , is a thirteen-month cycle of proclamations designed as an ethics curriculum for the dawn of a new age. Published on each Rosh Chodesh (New Moon), these chapters explore the intersection of Messianic faith, vegan ethics, world federalism, and the ethics of augmented intellect. The series operates on the Aquarian Vegan Era (AVE) calendar—a private sectarian complement to the Gregorian year—which identifies the 2020s CE as the Aries Point of a new 2,148-year Great Year cycle. By keeping the Watch of the New Moon, we seek to align our internal lives with the Interbeing of the New Creation as foretold in Isaiah 66:23. 1 Jonathan, a student of Hashem and of the Messiah Yeshua, to the Twelve Signs of the Great Year dispersed among the nations: Greetings on this Rosh Chodesh Nisan of Year One in the Aquarian Vegan Era. 2 I write to you from the quiet of my cell in Albany, keeping vigil while the city sleeps, during that Watch...

March 2026: Pornography and the Vegan Church

To the chosen stewards of the Covenant, those who seek to honor the Creator in both the food of their tables and the thoughts of their hearts: Grace to you and peace from the Author of Life. I write to you, brothers and sisters, not to add to your burdens, but to celebrate the radical consistency of our calling. May our lives be a seamless garment of compassion and holiness. We serve a Master who sees the hidden things—both the cruelty in the slaughterhouse and the exploitation behind the screen. As you lead your congregations in the ethics of the Kingdom, I urge you to walk in the light. Let our refusal to partake in the suffering of animals be mirrored by our refusal to partake in the commodification of the human sou...

February 2026: Black History and the Vegan Church

Image
Shalom, Everyone! I am starting an original article series on a new blog called The Messianic Vegan Monthly . Since we are now in February, I thought I would  begin with two thought-provoking questions about black history and the vegan church. In future articles, God willing, I will address pornography and the vegan church, alcohol and the vegan church, cannabis and the vegan church, LGBTQ issues and the vegan church, and overpopulation and the vegan church, just to name a handful of important topics that warrant careful consideration by vegan church leaders. But first, let me say a few words about the new Archbishop of Canterbury, confirmed at the end of January, and also about the situation at Creation Care Church (an important 2020s pioneer in this field).  Archbishop Mullally - now arguably the highest-ranking woman in the world church - is not vegan or vegetarian, accordingly to publicly available information. PETA UK is asking Mullally to modernize the Church of England...
